Sally was the daughter of Rev. Peter and Frances Taylor Hatcher. She married Rev. Edmond Lowry on Jun. 24, 1903 in Robeson County, North Carolina.

Her younger sister, Jessie Mae Hatcher married Edmond's younger brother, Rev. Doctor F. Lowry. Jessie is also buried at Hopewell.
