Titles can be combined with indents by adding a number of >'s at the start of the line, for example making a visually centered title:

The easiest way to set a font-face is by selecting the text and clicking on the [B] or [I] button above the text edit window.

Bullet list

Bullet levels are made by inserting a number of *'s at the start of the line and when inserting long lines the text wraps to the same level.

Bullet level 1 entered as * Bullet level 1
- Bullet level 2 entered as ** Bullet level 2. If the text is very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very long it wraps to the same indentation level.
  - Bullet level 3 entered as *** Bullet level 3
    - Bullet level 4 entered as **** Bullet level 4
- Continued on bullet level 2 with ** at the start of the line.

You cannot enter a bullet level more than one lever higher than the current directly, but need to be within the previous level to display it. You can however get the same visual effect by preceding a level 1 bullet with an indentation.

Numbered list

Automatically numbered lists are made by inserting a number of #'s at the start of the line. Other usages as on bullets.

Level 1. Start line with #
1. Level 2, Start line with ##
  1. Level 3. Start line with ###

2. Continued on number level 2 with ## at the start of the line.

Indentations is applied to a line or section by inserting a number of >'s at the start of the line.

//photos.geni.com/p13/70/8c/a7/c5/534448389eaa1478/bb_c_t2.jpg Geni profile About Me's and project descriptions support images, but there is currently no option to upload them or link to pictures in your albums or from other sites in the WikiText editor, so you have to enter them manually into your text. There are are currently no formatting options available.

To add a picture to your text you simply use the syntax: {{Image URL without http:}}, - simply using the URL for your photo without the http: prefix, for example {{//photos.geni.com/p13/70/8c/a7/c5/534448389eaa1478/bb_c_t2.jpg}} used to show my mugshot above. This method does also work for pointing to images on external servers, demonstrated on the Unicode logo above.

If using an image uploaded to Geni you can get variants of the image by replacing the last part of the filename. As a starter you can right-click an image in your browser to copy the image URL and replace the last part (as in the example above is _t2), where:

_large will display the large version if the image.
_medium will display the medium version if the image.
_small will display the small version if the image.
_t2 will display the thumb2 version if the image (the square mugshot used in tree view and lists).
_t will display the thumb version if the image.
_original will display the original version if the image.

Please note that because of an error that caused Geni to rebuild their image cache the original images very often is NOT the original image, just a blown up version.

You can also use images that already exist in the image folder on the Geni server as the examples in the Blog_Badges page, and you find a collection and syntax examples of them below. You don't need the full URL for those, only the relative path to the image folder on the Geni server.
