About the Schramm surname

 Comes from the Old German language; meaning to scar or to scratch. After the great migration of the Palatines the name Schramm become Shrum. There is quite a bit of time as gone to researching the Schramm/Shrum  bloodline. Some claiming; quite plausibly, to  have traced the lineage back to the 15th century. The oldest known member of the clan was Valentines Schramm. The family has spread from Germany, Bavaria and the Palatines. In America the Shrums are found in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas predominately.  The Shrums can also be found in Canada. The family that did not sail to America retained the original spelling of Schramm. The Schramm are found all threw out Europe.
