Six Geni Curators from around the world – Adam Brown, Randy Schoenberg, Pam Karp, Kevin Hanit, Malka Mysels and Hatte Blejer – will fly to Boston this weekend to represent Geni at the 33rd IAJGS International Conference on Jewish Genealogy. Located at Boston’s Park Plaza Hotel, the conference will run from Sunday, August 4th through Friday, August 9th.

The Curators will staff the official Geni exhibit all week as well as a table sponsored by Geni’s Jewish Genealogical Portal Project at the SHARE Fair on Sunday afternoon.

On Monday morning, Randy and Pam will talk about the Geni Jewish Families of Krakow Project at the Gesher Galicia Special Interest Group. Later in the day the Curators as a whole will host a meeting of a Geni Birds-of-a-Feather group to promote conversation among Geni enthusiasts attending the conference.

Lastly, Adam and Randy will deliver a talk on Thursday in which they will discuss the future of Internet-based genealogy. The talk will be streamed live over the Internet and also made available after the conference in MP3 format. Adam and Randy have authored two related articles on the subject that are scheduled for publication in the summer issue of the highly regarded Jewish genealogy journal Avotaynu.

Additional events and presentations will be scheduled by the Curators all week long, so Geni users attending the conference are encouraged to stop by the Geni table to introduce themselves, ask questions, and to obtain the latest schedule updates.
