At the top of the list this year are Noah for boys and Emma for girls. This is the second year in a row that Noah has claimed the top spot. Emma has been among the top three baby names since 2003. A popular name during the early 1900s, the name fell out of fashion in the 1950s until a resurgence in the 1990s.

James has also made a comeback at number 9. Although it has been one of the most popular names throughout the 20th century, James last held the number 1 spot in 1952. The name fell out of the top ten in 1993.

2014 saw Charlotte break into the top ten for the first time. The name has shown an increase in popularity recently. At the end of 2014, Chelsea Clinton, daughter of Hilary and Bill Clinton, named her first daughter Charlotte. And just recently, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge chose Charlotte Elizabeth Diana as the name of their newborn princess. Will next year show a surge in Charlotte’s popularity?
