Profile of the Day: Amelia Earhart

On January 11, 1935, aviator Amelia Earhart became the first person to fly solo from Honolulu, Hawaii to Oakland, California. A celebrated aviation pioneer and author, Earhart set numerous aviation records, including being the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic.
