Betty White was born on January 17, 1922 in Oak Park, Illinois. During the Great Depression, her family moved to California. Shortly after graduating from high school in 1939, White made her TV debut in an experimental television show in Los Angeles.

In the early 1950s, White became one of the first female producers in Hollywood when she launched her first television series, Life with Elizabeth. Throughout the 1960s, White showed off her comedic chops with many memorable appearances on network game shows. Later, she would star in two classic television sitcoms, The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Golden Girls. With a career that has spanned 80 years and multiple Emmy awards and nominations under her belt, White holds the Guinness World Record for having the longest television career for a female entertainer.
