On October 30, 1885, American expatriate poet Ezra Pound was born in Hailey, Idaho Territory. A major figure of the early modernist movement, Pound helped discover the work of T.S. Eliot, James Joyce and Ernest Hemingway. Together, along with other literary greats, were a part of the “Lost Generation,” a term used for those who came of age during World War I.
