The youngest of four children, much of Harrison’s early life was filled with music. He first joined Paul McCartney and John Lennon at the age of 14 when the group was still called the Quarrymen. Forming the Beatles with the addition of drummer, Ringo Starr, the rock group released their first hit single, “Love Me Do” in 1962.

Often referred to as the “quiet Beatle,” Harrison yearned to get more of his songs included on the band’s albums. Some of his most memorable include the songs “Here Comes the Sun” and “Something.” In 1970, the Beatles had their last recording session, recording Harrison’s song “I Me Mine.”

Harrison died on November 29, 2001 at the age of 58.
