Newton was born prematurely at Woolstrhope Manor in Lincolnshire, England, just three months after the death of his father. A gifted student, Newton excelled in mathematics.

Newton would go on to become one of the most influential scientists in history and revolutionize the way people think about the world. Not only did Newton formulate the laws of motion and universal gravitation, but he is also credited with building the first practical reflecting telescope and inventing calculus.

He died on March 31, 1727 at the age of 84 and was buried in Westminster Abbey.
