John Steinbeck

On February 27, 1902, American writer John Steinbeck was born in Salinas, California. Widely known for his Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Grapes of Wrath, Steinbeck’s work often examined the lives of the working class and migrant workers during the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression. In 1962, he received the Nobel Prize in Literature.
