Profile of the Day: Mick Jagger

Happy birthday to Mick Jagger! Today the Rolling Stones singer turns 79.

Michael Philip Jagger was born on July 26, 1943 in Dartford, Kent. His father, Basil Fanshawe Jagger, and his grandfather, David Ernest Jagger, were both teachers. His mother, Eva Ensley Mary Scutts, was a hairdresser. From a young age, Jagger loved to sing. He was classmates with Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, who shared Jagger’s love of the blues.

For over 50 years, Jagger has rocked the stage as the lead singer of The Rolling Stones. In 1989, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Today, their concerts continue to draw huge crowds all around the world.

Did you know that Mick Jagger is a great grandfather? Jagger has 3 great grandchildren. His oldest great grandchild was born in 2014. He also has five grandchildren and eight children. He welcomed his youngest child in 2016 at the age of 73.
