Nikola Tesla

Today we highlight popular inventor and electrical engineer Nikola Tesla, whose groundbreaking discoveries help give birth to the commercialization of electricity. In 1856, Tesla was born in the village of Smiljan in what is now Croatia. He pioneered concepts that paved the way for modern alternating current (AC) electricity and in 1891, invented the Tesla coil.
