He was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in London, making him the first direct heir of the British throne to be born in a hospital. Since then, all three of Prince William’s children were born at the same hospital. On August 4, he was baptized William Arthur Philip Louise in the Music Room of Buckingham Palace. The day also marked the 82nd birthday of his paternal great grandmother Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.

After finishing his education, Prince William worked in the private sector as an ambulance pilot. He left in 2017 to assume a more active role in his royal duties on behalf of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. This year at the age of 96, Queen Elizabeth II became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking her 70 years on the throne.

In addition to his royal duties, Prince William has been a supporter and champion of a number of charitable organizations and initiatives from mental health to homelessness to the environment.
