Dr. Seuss

Today we remember beloved children’s book author Theodor Seuss Geisel, who passed away 22 years ago at the age of 87. Affectionately remembered by his pen name Dr. Seuss, Geisel published 46 children’s books that featured his unique blend of imaginative characters and rhymes. His most celebrated books include Green Eggs and Ham, The Cat in the Hat and How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

Did you know that during World War II he worked in an animation department of the United Sates Army? It was during this time that he wrote Design for Death, a film that later won the 1947 Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.
