Vincent van Gogh
On July 29, 1890 artist Vincent van Gogh died in Auvers-sur-Ouse in northern France after shooting himself in the chest two days earlier. Although his work was not recognized during his lifetime, today van Gogh is considered one of the greatest and most influential painters in history.
