I am having a problem embedding a photo into this project: Retinoschisis https://www.geni.com/projects/Retinoschisis/51354.
I have tried everything, I think, but still come up with a box with a ? in the center & NO pix. I am soooooo frustrated!!!

Erica has attempted to help, but suggested maybe someone more skilled in this would be better able to help. Please see the discussion between us here: https://www.geni.com/discussions/179625?msg=1207663 Medical Portal project--Needs, questions, concerns & related issues Discussion.

I would like the pix that shows both pix (affected mother & father), it is in blue from this site: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retinoschisis Wikipedia - Retinoschisis].
{{//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retinoschisis#/media/File:Xlink_dominant_mother_original.jpg}} this is the site w/o the "http:" for the site when I click on the image, but it only shows the left (affected mother) image at the above site... Is there any way to get both???

If someone could help I would really appreciate it!!! I spent a couple of hours this afternoon trying to add the image. I finally quit to give my brain a break! :=(

Thank you in advance.

Private,
My problem is getting the photo in blue in Wikipedia article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retinoschisis Wikipedia - Retinoschisis) to be embedded in the project. I looked at several sites in Geni that explained HOW to embed photos in a project & tried everything with the one I want, but still came up with a long box with a ? mark in it in the project. What did I miss doing???

I know how to add photos to be the project's photo, my problem is getting one embedded in the project (or at least this one!!!). I now know to remove the "http:" or what ever comes before the // in the address, but it still didn't want to show the photo I want.

I looked at the sites on embedding photos Erica suggested (& saved some of the info for my future reference), and thought I had done everything to get the photo embedded, but nothing seemed to work... hence my question here for help.

Could you go to the project (https://www.geni.com/projects/Retinoschisis/51354) & see if you can figure out what needs to be done to get that photo embedded? I also included the photo in the "photo & document" site just in case that was needed.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Patricia Ann Scoggin - Tried a simple copy picture and paste it into the text?

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it and it didn't work. I did a copy/past to the photo/documents & identified where it came from.

You can paste an image while editing a message, discussion, about-me or project description.
In any case make sure that you are not violating anyones copyright (see Terms of use).

In general you should never repeat info from Wikipedia and other sites that change over time, - it is better to write a summary with a link to the rest both to avoid copyright trouble and wrong / outdated info if the source change.
