She’s in my tree and was connected to nonsense Moytoys. Is there any real evidence for the wife of Abraham Nation, Jr.
No, there isn't and there isn't any real information for him either -born c. 1745 d. 1850? 9r 1792?
really?
She was born between 1750 and 1800, supposedly had her last child in 1819: No one named "Nations" appears in any Cherokee records of the period.
There are several children attached on Wikitree, none with documentation connecting them to any parents, three born late in the 18th century, one in 1819.
http://www.megjohn.info/genealogy/Henry_Nation_Descendants.pdf =
Gen. 7. Abraham Nation, b. bet. 1760-1780 per 1840 census Jefferson Co., AL, married Rebecca, reported to be a Cherokee Indian, date unknown. This couple moved to SC (1810-1820 censuses) where daughter Mary Nation married James Massey as both couples moved from the part of Old Pendleton District, SC to Jefferson Co., AL which is now Oconee Co., SC, both couples were admitted by letters to Old Canaan Baptist Church of Elyton, Jefferson Co., AL (now moved to Bessemer, AL) but still active.
Erica Howton I have been doing more merging and clean up-- can you LOCK the children of
Capt. Christopher Nation to the (speculative) mothers?!
Elizabeth Nation the first wife and Elizabeth Nation have different children listed in their Abouts and I am thinking the ones before 1747 go to Sharp and after go to Swaim
Elizabeth Nation says:
Christopher was a son of John Nation (b 28 Mar 1697, d 15 Dec 1772) and Bethiah Robbins (b 1701, d May 1774). This was Christopher’s second marriage. His first marriage was to Elizabeth Sharp (b 1717, d 26 Dec 1787). There is no record of Elizabeth Sharp’s death around 1747 as she died in 1787 so this may have involved a divorce.
Children
1Abraham Nation b: ABT 1740 in VA. Married Rebecca, said to be Cherokee.
2Nancy Nation b: Abt 1742 in VA. Not named in father's 1799 will.
3Christopher Nation Jr. b: ABT 1744 in VA.
4John Nation b: ABT 1745 in Frederick Co., VA. Married to an unknown woman.
If Elizabeth Swaim married Christopher Nation in 1747 then the following is my estimated split of children between mothers Elizabeth Swaim and Elizabeth Sharp.
1Thomas Nation b: ABT 1747 in Frederick Co., VA. Married 1) Nancy 2) Rebecca Riggs
2Joseph Nation Sr. b: ABT 1750 in NC. Rev War soldier. Married Jeretta Vickery.
3William Nation b: 1752 in NC. Married Jane.
4Bethia Nation b: 1760 in NC. Married John Love, Jr.
5Amos Nation b: 1760. Married an unknown woman.
6Elizabeth Nation b: ABT 1762 in NC. Married Solomon Jones.
I think they have all been moved correctly.
See also "son" added in January: John A. Nations
Several profiles added at that time have been moved to their duplicates and are NOT the children of these Christopher and Elizabeths and I suspect he is a nonexistent person or misnamed or in the wrong tree but I hesitate to disconnect him as I have no idea what to make of him at this time.
Maybe here’s the mixup.

Linda (Carr) Buchholz - the parents given to Rebecca at FindAGrave are fictional. And she’s not on the 1820 census so presumed dead before then.

I think the Walker County AL Abraham Nation is yet another man. Locations are different.

Cynthia Curtis, A183502, US7875087 - can you work bottom up? I’m about to separate out the extra children of Abraham & Rebecca. They only had 4.
I am suspicious of "sons" James M Nation and John Nation
Wil work on Mary Massey and come back to them
Children of ABRAHAM NATION and REBECCA CHEROKEE INDIAN are:
NATHANIEL7 NATION, b. Abt. 1788, South Carolina; d. 15 May 1858, Magnolia County, Arkansas.
JAMES NATION, b. Abt. 1789, Tennessee.
JOHN NATION, b. Abt. 1790.
MARY NATION, b. 01 May 1794, Guilford County (Old Rowan County), North Carolina; d. 10 Jan 1875, Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama.
Nathaniel is buried in Hall Cemetery or at least his FAG says so. Magnolia County is probably Magnolia, COLUMBIA County, Arkansas in the "source" referenced
Let’s agree on sources.
I’m showing Abraham Nation, Jr. is your second cousin 6 times removed.
I believe curator Dan Cornett is also related; we had first worked on this Nation family some years back.
So my Howtons, Franklins, Masseys, etc are of Hueytown. There should be previous research notes.
So far I like the study http://www.megjohn.info/genealogy/Henry_Nation_Descendants.pdf although I’ve separated out Abraham’s as per http://www.nationstudy.com/getperson.php?personID=I7557&tree=Nation...
There’s also a book to be quoted from, perhaps:
O'Brien James Dewey. 1988. Our Colonial Ancestors : Knott Massey Youngblood Hickman Pullen & Others. Baltimore: Gateway Press. http://catalog.hathitrust.org/api/volumes/oclc/19527304.html.
Anyway, these are the extra children of Abraham & Rebecca, no longer attached to them:
They probably need even more separating.
James M Nation needs disambiguated --- public trees show man with that death date and location as son of different couple.
Here’s a comment from https://www.geni.com/projects/Neely-Family-1866-William-Henry-Will-Neely/16235 by Dan Cornett
(Our Nation connection is at Deborah Nation)
One repeated and thought to be reliable story from oral history has it that at some point after his marriage, probably in 1891 or 1892, Will traveled to Texas where he visited with relatives, probably Henry Wood and his wife Sarah Minerva Wood (who was a first cousin of Sarah Hood, their common great grandfather being Nipper Hood).
