Benjamin Teague
FamilySearch Family Tree
Birth: 1739 - St Mary, Cecil, Maryland, United States
Death: 1829 - Cumberland, Cumberland, North Carolina, United States
Wife: Isabella Teague (born Penington)
Children: Esther Teague, Sarah Charity Swaim (born Teague)

I am looking for sources to prove his parents, his DOB, his wife's name, list of children.
I adopted the profile for Sarah Charity Swaim

Look here The Genealogy of the Teague Family

https://www.seibelfamily.net/teague-genealogy.html

Also note.

If the dates given are correct, Sarah Charity Swaim was not the mother of any of the Swaine children.

Is this his Wikitree profile?:
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Teague-316

Yes-- https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Teague-771 is managed by Lynette Jester whose brother is a DNA match to me, my maternal uncle and my sister on a segment on chrome 6 which is also shared with a DNA confirmed Huddleston 5th cousin, same segment....

https://www.geni.com/path/Cynthia-Curtis-A183502-US7875087+is+relat... and amazingly https://www.geni.com/path/Cynthia-Curtis-A183502-US7875087+is+relat... which may explain why I have a DNA paternal Jenkins cousin who also matches my maternal Huddleston cousin(s) at AncestryDNA

Yes. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Teague-316

Be aware that Curator Pam Wilson (on hiatus, so cannot ask her) is the originator of the Teague tree on Geni, and her research goes back many years. So profiles she manages may “look” blank as they were uploaded by her Gedcom from her Rootsweb tree, but shouldn’t be discounted.

Tagging Lynette Jester

Erica Howton is Sarah Charity Swaim in https://www.seibelfamily.net/teague-genealogy.html ?

I "know" Swaim pretty well but Teague not so much!

Of course the shared most recent common ancestor for Lynette's brother and my uncle may not be Swaim or Teague but someone they both have in common a generation or more back and which endogamy or families marrying into families many times can make appear closer related

*more closely related than they are as far as the tree relationship

No, they end with Benjamin.

Well sigh!
Thank you, Erica Howton 1

I think I found the origins of Edward Teague's son being William Able. Able comes later, grandson. For the most part John Anderson's work is pretty good. And John shared his work far and wide. I gave him my Jester-Teague relations. But I only had back to Wiliam Teague in 1850 AR.

Cynthia Curtis, A183502, US7875087 Erica Howton Have ya'll seen this Charity? https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Teague-230

So it appears we have a Charity Swaim who m. a Teague and a Charity Teague who m. a Swaim.

Here’s a brief intro to the Teagues.

  • Elmore, J. Pitts,. Ancestry and family story of Samuel J. Pitts (1831-1884) and Lucy Ann Hendricks (1836-1919). Redding, Calif.: unknown, (1973.) “Teague Ancestry.” < AncestryImage >; (document attached)

Geni thinks Benjamin Teague is my 8th great uncle through his brother Reverend Edward Teague, I

Yes, Charity Swaim was uploaded to geni in 2008.

Do you have a link to the Anderson you mentioned?

I've been looking for it. I'll email him.

Since we have Swaim brothers marrying Teague sisters, I would imagine this was discussed in the old “Teague family magazine,” which doesn’t look to be on line.

Here’s FamilySearch’s catalog entry:

https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/6207?availability=Famil...

Geni has two Joshua, sons of Edward. He only had 1 who died young, there wasn't a second.

Hey perhaps digitized after all, I tried the most recent.

I have a hard time opening books if I haven't done it in a while. I'll ask my bro (not Ken) to use the Archives that he absolutely loves.

That book is my line. Cool.

Teague history : pioneer settlers of Alexander County, N.C. Edward Teague, pioneer. Generations one to eight. William Teague, pioneer, and John Teague, pioneer, families I'm still scanning it. And its the wrong Edward. Much later then what we need.

It’s the right Edward, fits what I know about Reverend Edward Teague, I and mentions his brothers … not including Benjamin however, and ascribing father William Teague, I as direct from England. Other genealogies, and Y DNA, have William as son of Edward Teague

https://www.familytreedna.com/public/teague?iframe=yresults Edward, Cecil Co. MD Edward Teague, b.1660 and d.1697 Wales R-FT85105

We have a diverging Edward Teague more with son Moses based on DAR records.

Edward Teague

Lurannah Barnes Who married Jehu Barnes, of Parke County may or may not be with the correct parents.

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Teague_Name_Study I would rather read and transcribe English Chancery then Welsh chancery.

Remember Teegs Delight and Teegs Pembroke. Pembroke is welsh.

About Lurannah Barnes... ask Hugh Barnes, if he is still active here.

I sent Hugh a message at Linkedin.

At Wikitree https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Teague-170 Lurannah's father Edward was b. 1716
