Prof. Adi Shamir

Adi Shamir (Hebrew: עדי שמיר‎; born July 6, 1952) is an Israeli cryptographer. He is a co-inventor of the RSA algorithm (along with Ron Rivest and Len Adleman), a co-inventor of the Feige–Fiat–Shamir identification scheme (along with Uriel Feige and Amos Fiat), one of the inventors of differential cryptanalysis and has made numerous contributions to the fields of cryptography and computer science.

עדי שמיר – פרופסור במחלקה למדעי המחשב ולמתמטיקה שימושית במכון ויצמן למדע – הוא מבכירי מדעני המחשב בעולם ומומחה ראשון במעלה בתחומים של הצפנת מידע ופענוח. הוא היה בין מפתחי שיטת ״אר אס איי״ ששינתה את פניה של תקשורת המחשבים בעולם והייתה לנדבך יסוד במסחר אלקטרוני ובאבטחת מידע. גם לאחר הפיתוח שהקנה לו שם עולמי, המשיך שמיר לשקוד על פיתוחן ועל שכלולן של שיטות פענוח, הצפנה ואימות

פרופ' שמיר מתגורר ברחובות. הוא נשוי ללאה ואב לאוהד, לנעמה ולמאיה
