The above photo depicts sisters Nellie Afton, Eva Lenore and Ada Camomile when they were girls. Ada was the 6th child of Frederick William Camomile and Melissa Jane Osborn Camomile, born April 1, 1907, in Salt Lake City, Utah. In the 1910 U.S. Federal Census for Salt Lake City, Utah, they were listed as follows: F.W. Camomile, 37, Melissa, 37, Fredrick D., 17, Morris W., 14, Nellie A., 12, Eva L., 9, Eugene D., 6, and Ada M., 3 years old. Fred was born in Utah, his parents in England, and he working as a boiler maker. Melissa was born in Utah, her father in Missouri and her mother in California. All their children were born in Utah. Fred and Melissa had been married for 17 years.

By 1920, Melissa and her children were still living in Salt Lake City, but Fred had left the family and Melissa was listed as divorced: Melissa, 47, Eugene, 15, Ada, 12, Rollins, 7, and Mary, nearly 3 years old, and also living in the home was Melissa and Fred's married daughter, Nellie Afton, 23, and her husband Milo Hill, 29. They were renitng their home at 532 21st South, and Milo was working as a laborer for the power company. Melissa's father, Fred, was living in Washington State and he had remarried to a woman named Elise or Elsie.

Ada married Earl Maxie Puckett in about 1927 and in the 1930 census they were living in Compton, Los Angeles County, California, and were listed as follows: Earl M., 27, Ada M., 23, and son Vernon E., 2 years, 8 months old. Earl was working as a chauffeur. Ada's mother, Melissa, and her siblings had also moved to California and were living in Bloomington, San Bernardino County, California, in the 1930 census.

By the 1940 U.S. Federal Census for Inglewood, California, Earl and Ada had moved from Compton to Inglewood and were listed as follows: Earl M., 37, Ada M., 33, Vernon E., 12, Joan L., 8, and Gerald L., 7. Also living in their home was Dora Puckett, Ear'ls 65-year old widowed mother. They were living at 526 Buford Avenue in a home they owned valued at $5,000. Earl was born in California, as were their children, Ada in Utah, and Dora in Ohio. Earl and Ada had 4 years of high school education. Dora had an 8th grade education, Vernon was in the 7th grade, Joan in the 3rd grade and Gerald in the 2nd grade. Earl was working as a truck driver for a gasoline tank trucking company, and for the 50 weeks he worked in 1939 at 40 hours per week his income was $1,800.

Earl passed away March 28, 1986, and was buried in the Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Rancho Palos Verdes, Los Angeles County, California. Ada passed away five years later on the day after Christmas, December 26, 1991, while living in Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, and was buried with her husband Earl. She is in crypt 133 and Earl is in 132.
