Civil War Service: He entered the Civil War on 3 Sept 1862 and served with the 30th Battalion, Co. F., Sharp Shooters under Capt. Lenox C. Armstrong as a 1st Sgt. He was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant on 28 Sept 1863. Albert was captured at the Battle of Waynesboro in Augusta County, Virginia on 2 March 1865. It was the final battle for Confederate Lt. Gen. Jubal Early's forces. According to his service record Albert was 5'10" in height, hair and complexion light and eyes blue.
Following the death of his wife Nancy Elizabeth in 1903, he married his second wife Mrs. Mahala Fox Badgett in 1904. She had three sons; Orville, Clarence and Floyd Badgett. Parts of information furnished by Patricia Fabri #47703186
