12 December 1588: Extract decree of transumpt by the Lords of Council and Session at the instance of Hugh, Earl of Eglinton against Katherine Hunter, relict of unquhile Hugh Garven burgh clerk of Ayr having in her hands the protocol of unquhile John Mor, notary of instrument of sasine of the said Hugh, Earl of Eglinton as heir to his father in the earldom and lordship of Eglinton.
