Alice has a daughter, Joyce Margaret, born 8/7/1917 JHB, died 30/6/1969.

Unmarried 1.2.1915 when brother James enlists into army, naming Alice Ferguson as his next of kin.

(Alice's daughter)Joyce Margaret Ward had serious reservations about the authenticity of her stated father, Dr Jock Ward. It was her contention that a man who could treat her the way he did, could not possibly have been her biological father. According to her Aunt Bella Smith, her biological father was a potato farmer from the Orange Free State. To the best of her knowledge he was of the Jewish faith and his surname was Phillips.
