Alexander (Lachlan) married Mary MacDougall who came with her brother James to Upper Washabuck in 1817. They lived in Lower Washabuck and their family: James, Catherine, Sarah, Paul, Stephen, Peter, Michael, and Nicholas. 501
Sarah married Allan ("I' Ruadh") MacNeil, Christmas Island, lived in St. Peter's, and had a family.
John “Red” McNeil.
John McNeil, “Red,” (Iain Ruadh Mac Domhnaill Phiobaire) came to this country in 1817. His first wife was Mary, only daughter of Hector McKenzie (Eachun Mac’ Illeasbuig). She died in 1821 leaving a family of two sons and one daughter, viz., Neil (Red), Hector, and Mary.
His second wife was a McLean woman, sister of Neil McLean (Dubh), Baddeck. Issue: — Angus, Allan, Malcom, Rory, Donald, Michael, Katie, Lucy, and Bessie.
Allan was a shoemaker. He settled at St. Peter’s and married Katie, daughter of Alexander McLean (Lauchlin), Washabuck. He had a family. One of his sons is the Rev. J. J. McNeil, P. P., Dominion No. 4.
