About Anne Atkinson
Ann Bachiler was born about 1601, daughter of Rev. Stephen Batchelder of Hampton by his 1st wife, Ann Bate. She died after 1632 in Strood, Kent, England.
She married first Unknown Sanborn by about 1620. She married second Henry Atkinson on 20 Jan 1631/2 in Strood, Kent.
She and her husband had three children:
- Lieutenant John Sanborn,
- William Sanborn, and
- Stephen Sanborn.
The children travelled with their grandfather, the Reverend Stephen Bachiler, to Lynn, Massachusetts on the ship "William and Francis" in 1632. Anne however Did NOT emigrate.

Lieut. John Sanborn, with his brothers Stephen and William, came to Hampton in 1640. His mother was a daughter of the Rev. Stephen Bachiler. Lieut. Sanborn was an active, influential citizen, and was chosen to various positions of trust and responsibility. He was one of the most strenuous opponents of the Masonian claim and of Cranfield's administration. He was a signer to Weare's petition to the king in 1683.
Living in the Strand, London in 1630/31, she received license to travel in Flushing.
