Anthony Eames, Jr., s. of Anthony Eames, Sr. and Mercy Sawyer, has no recorded date of birth. However, like his six known older siblings whose births are recorded in Marshfield, Mass., he was undoubtedly b. in Marshfield. Based on his known gravestone, he was born on or after Apr. 27, 1703. He died testate Apr. 26, 1793 and is interred at the small "Ames" burial ground in the Town of Sterling, Conn. The Town of Sterling was, in part, formed from the northern part of the Town of Voluntown, Conn.
On Mar. 25, 1725 of record at Marshfield, Anthony m. Anna Barker, dau. of John Baker, 3rd and his 1st wife Hannah Eames (dau. of Jonathan), b. of record Oct. 19, 1709 at Marshfield. She d. prior to Aug. 1, 1790, the date of her husband's will at Voluntown, Conn. in which no provision is made for her.
