About Aquilla "Quill" Edington
Aquilla Edington was the only son of Robert and Margaret Alice Hardesty-Edington, was born in Coshocton, Ohio on April 14,1823 and later died in Jackson Township, Greene, Indiana on November 29, 1876.
He served in the Civil War as a volunteer in Company E 97th Regiment of Indiana VOLUNTEER Infantry from September 20, 1862 to February 26, 1863 when he was transferred to Company C 75th Regiment and served until September 2, 1865, reaching the rank of Corporal. Aquilla Edington was married to Martha Elizabeth Ross in Greene County, Indiana on June 17, 1852. After the death of Martha E. Edington his first wife, Aquilla was later married to his second wife Eliza Ann Jackson on October 20, 1858 in Greene County, Indiana.
Eliza Ann Jackson-Edington was previously listed as being buried next to her husband Aquilla, but her monument was not found on December 2, 2001.
