Archibald Long Polk

Great News! Thanks to the greatest Polk authority in the world (in my opinion) a Mr. Bill Polk of KC, MO., and others that have been working on a Polk DNA project, their research has recently broken down an old "brick wall" for many of us Polk family members!

Archibald L Polk has now been conclusively proven to be of the Mecklenburg Polk's. We now have DNA proof that he was fathered by either a Son or a Grandson of William Polk and Margaret Taylor's, the progenitors of the Mecklenburg Polk's.

This solidly confirms that all descendants of Archibald L Polk are indeed related to President James Knox Polk as we know that William Polk was the Great Grandfather of President Polk. For many years we thought it was so... and now we know it is so.

Son of Charles Polk & Phoebe Philopena Helms.

Husband of Kizziah Morgan. Married 1852.

1823-1824 listed on tax lists Mecklenburg County, NC had no taxable property
Married 1824 and by 1830 has moved to Newton County, Ga
