Biography

Thomas Polk, son of Capt. Charles (RWS) and Mary (Clark) Polk, was born 28 Feb 1771 at Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, USA, and died 12 Aug 1864 (aged 93). Lowndes County, Mississippi, USA.

Thomas Polk was the husband of Keziah (Pyron) Polk, daughter of John Pyron and Mary Ann (Cates) Pyron. She was born February 18, 1768 in Anson County, North Carolina, and died there in 1842.

NOTE:

"Thomas Polk's will was probated October 05, 1864, Lowndes Co., MS. Per other researchers he died August 12, 1864, Lowndes Co., MS."

"1880 census ~ Lowndes Co., MS, living in with his son, Thomas Polk and family. In 1850 census, he is living by himself and still farming in Lowndes Co., MS."

"He is probably buried in Egger Cemetery (no marker), Caledonia, Lowndes Co., MS, as are many of his descendants."

"I understand the older cemeteries in that area are barely accessable along with many many broken, unreadable, and pieces of stones in piles."
