concerns

This Benjamin is a son of John Sexton of Lunenburg and Margaret Malone, not of James Sexton and Mary Lee as has been stated.

This Benjamin is the same as Benjamin Franklin Sexton. Awaiting merge of his parents' duplicate profiles.

Do not confuse this Benjamin with (his same-named half-brother?) Benjamin Sexton.

changes to be made by a curator

comments

Given name has also been reported to be Benjamin Franklyn.

Date and place of birth have also been (erroneously?) reported to be:

  • circa 1752 (including specifically 1752) in Virginia
  • April 15, 1782 in Maryland

Date and place of marriage to Mary have also been (erroneously?) reported to be 1774 at an unspecified location.

Date and place of death have also been (erroneously?) reported to be:

  • 1831 in Bath County (which apparently does not exist), Kentucky, United States
  • March 31, 1831 at Bath, Knott County, Kentucky, United States

content to be cleaned up

Tho his tombstone reads Maryland - it was put up years after the event - facts found point to that he was born in Virginia and not Maryland as stated on it.

Notes for COMFORT SMITH:

  • She is apparently on 1840 census for Bath Co., with son, John's family, which shows 1 female, aged 90-100.
  • Her last name is in dispute. No one can prove the Smith name, however, because it appears on her tombstone, I've used it here. The question is when was the tombstone put up and did they know her name?
