Bessie Francis Schrader

Schrader—Mrs. Bessie Jones Schrader, 92, of Hiawatha, died early Monday morning, April 28, 1986, at the Regency Health Care Center of Hiawatha, where she had been a resident the last several years.

   She was born in Brown County, February 9, 1894, the daughter of C.N. and Lurella Watkins Jones and had lived in this area all of her life. She had worked as a home health nurse and housekeeper in Brown County for many years.

   Mrs. Schrader was a lifetime member of the Zenith Chapter No. 184, Order of Eastern Star of Hiawatha.

   She was married to Orlando Herman Schrader, January 3, 1912, at her family farm residence near Hiawatha. He died Augusta 4, 1935. A son, Charles Warren Schrader, died July 17, 1923.

   Survivors include a step-brother, Carl Berg of White Cloud and many nieces and nephews.

   Funeral services will be held from the Casselman-Meek Funeral Home, at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, with the Rev. Harold R. Wolf officiating. Interment will be at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mt. Zion Community, northeast of Hiawatha.
