WHAT THEY SAY

Mrs. O. A. Schrader: Our little boy made a heroic fight for life, but doctors told us they had never known a case like his to get well. Whooping cough had a good deal to do with his death. As he was drawing his last breath he put his arms around my neck and loved me. In the 11 days our boy was in the Bethany hospital he received 50 post cards and 10 bouquets. I want to thank all who remembered him, because every card and flower cheered him.

DEATHS

H. and Bessie Schrader, was born near Hiawatha, Jan. 29, 1916; died at Bethany hospital, Kansas City, Kans., July 17, 1923, aged 7 years, 5 months, 18 days. He was an only child and the only grandchild on his mothers side. His sickness became acute about 2 weeks ago, when he was taken to Bethany hospital, where an operation was performed. Everything was done that medical skill could do. He was a great sufferer, but bore it bravely and never complained. He was baptized July 9 in the presence of his father and mother by the writer, who also baptized his mother when she was 10 years old. His mother stayed by him day and night and she and his father were at his side when he passed into the Great Beyond. - Charles spoke several times about his playthings at home and at one time told his father where his little cart was and to look but for it when he moved the wagon. He received 50 cards and letters and 10 bouquets from his friends during the 11 days he was in the hospital. He leaves his father and mother, both grandfather, C. W. Jones and Charles Schrader, one grandmother, together with a number of aunts and uncles, cousins and little playmates of whom he was very fond. Charles had attended school 2 years and will be remembered for his singing on Mothers Day to a large crowd of folks. Funeral was held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Mt. Zion church conducted by Rev. W. J. Byers of Kansas City, assisted by Rev. H. P. Wassel. Burial was in Mt. Zion cemetery.
