Father and Mother Lars (born Dec. 18, 1832 – Nov. 11, 1911) Brita (born Nov. 26, 1830 – Oct. 15, 1910)
The family left Lima, Sweden with their seven children. They landed in Philadelphia on May 18, 1880 and headed for Dassel, Minnesota. This would have been a journey by wagon train as well. They soon moved to Roseau in 1888. Lars Nelson, the eldest son, was born in 1858 and remained in Sweden passing away Oct 23, 1890.
The remaining Nelson children were Nels 1859 - 1934 Andrew 1862 - 1946 Sara 1865 - 1905 Martin 1868 - 1936 Anna 1870 - 1899 Brita 1874 - 1924 Peter 1876 - 1971

Mrs. Louis Nordstrom, sister of Martin Nelson of Roseau and P.O. Nelson of Stafford, passed away at her home at Sprague, Sunday evening, March 2, at 11:30. She had been sick eleven days with pneumonia. Funeral services were held Wednesday of last week and burial made in Sprague cemetery.
The deceased was born in Sweden, January 27, 1874, and came to this country in 1880. She is survived by her husband and nine children, besides her two brothers here, Andrew Nelson of Bergland post office, Ontario, and Nels Nelson of Sprague. Mrs. Nordstrom had a large circle of friends in this community who extend their sympathy to the sorrowing family.
