NEHG Register: He was made freeman, 9 Jan., 1673/4, was a cordwainer, captain-lieutenant in the militia, and deacon of the First Parish.
In 1698 he preached the election sermon. About 1702 he wrote the memoir of his uncle Rev. James Noyes, in Mather's Magnolia.
Mass. and Maine Families: Represented the town in the General Court 1709-1712.

Cutting Noyes, Sr. is the son of Nicholas Noyes and Mary (Cutting) Noyes. Cutting was born September 23, 1649 in Newbury Massachusetts. He died before November 18, 1734.
Cutting was made a freeman 9 Jan. 1673/4 and was a cordwainer (shoemaker=new shoes). In 1690 he was elected captain of Newbury's first militia company. He was church deacon, and representative to the general court from 1709 to 1712.
