CAPT. JOHN BRANDON, b. Abt. 1732, Ireland/Monaghan Twp, Lancaster Co, PA?; d. 1827, Rowan Co, NC; m. SARAH; b. Abt. 1736, Monaghan Twp, Lancaster Co, PA; d. Aft. May 1827.
Notes for CAPT. JOHN BRANDON: In NC in 1773 as executor of his father's will. It's reported that in Rowan Co, NC, August 4, 1789, George Brandon made a deed to John Brandon 0f 457 acres of land “on Hunting Creek, adjoining John McGuire, John Brandon, and Brice Cates, for 100 pounds.” It appears this John had no children. Brother Abraham witnesses his February 1827 will. George Lee Hudspeth reports this John bought land confiscated from Tories in 1780 (450 acres for 225 shillings) and that it was next to his brother George's land. As George is said to have been a wagonmaster in the Revolution, this could point to the brother refered to as a Tory in Draper's account of James Withrow at King's Mountain. Abraham?
