Thomas Heard was born in 1742, in Goochland county, Virginia, a son of Stephen Heard and Mary Catherine Faulkner. Thomas is honored by the Society of Daughters of the American Revolution for his Patriotic Service. He furnished supplies in support of the Continental Army. [1] Thomas was first married to Elizabeth Fitzpatrick and secondly to Mary Veasey. Applications for membership in the Society of DAR have been made by his descendants through his sons, Falkner Heard, who married Mary Robinson; Abram Heard[2], who married Nancy Coffee; Woodson Heard, who married Mary Peeples; Joseph Heard, who married Nancy Stewart; William Heard, who married Catherine Bird; and Thomas Heard, who married Polly Whatley; and through his daughters, Mary Heard, who married John Drury Cook; Catherine Heard[3], who married Pressley Watts; Elizabeth Heard, who married Michael Whatley; and Sarah "Sally" Heard, who married Wilson Whatley.
