From KEITH: The Collected Genealogies of Keith, Keath and Keith Families in North America, by Larry Keith (Gateway Press, 1997), p. 282:
Served actively in various VA regiments in the Revolutionary War, 3rd VA private, was commissioned First Lieutenant in John Green's Company, 6th VA (formerly designated as Captain Thomas Blackwell's Company of Foot, 19th Virginia), 1st Lieutenant in the 10th Regiment, 8th VA; was made Captain after the Battle of Cowpens; Tradition relates that he also served as aide-de-camp to General George Washington. Family moved, 1799, first to Jefferson County, TN, and moved in 1809 to near Rodney's Landing, Jefferson County, Mississippi; d. 7 Feb 1822. On 30 Aug Alexander's heirs petitioned for a land grant due him for his revolutionary war service and were allowed 2,666 2/3 acres of land in FL and MS. [In depositions concerd with Alexander Keith petition for Revolutionary War pension, it is stated that the only children of Alexander as Kitty (Catherine, who m. BRADFORD), Charles F., Isham, and Maria I. Keith. Possibly others died before that time....]
Cemetery book lists the following, "Alexander Keith, 1750-1824, Virginia, Lt. David Enoch's Company, Revolutionary War."
∼ According to the book KEITH FAMILIES OF VIRGINIA, it states that:
Alexander married first to a Yancy; His 2nd marriage to Marianne Gallihue in 1778, who was a widow of Charles Thornton of Fredricksburg, VA.
