CHESTER TULLAR

Chester was the son of Reuben Tullar and his wife, Mary ____. Shortly after the Revolutionary War the family moved from Simsbury, CT, to Saint Albans, Franklin Co., VT.

Chester Tullar was married in 1800, Saint Albans, VT to Eudotia Cooke, daughter of Eleazer Cooke and his wife, Rebecca Marsh.

In 1811, Chester Tullar was commissioned First Lieut. in Rufus Tilden's Company, Franklin Co., VT Regiment commanded by Lieut. Durand. They were among the Vermont militia that crossed Lake Champlain to repel the British at Plattsburg, NY in the War of 1812.

Chester and his family moved from Saint Albans, VT, to Bangor, Franklin Co., NY, where he had a farm. He joined the militia and was promoted to Captain in the 66th New York Regiment serving under Lt. Col. Alvis Mann.

The family eventually moved to Black Lake, St. Lawrence Co., NY where he also farmed. His wife, Eudotia, died there in 1834. Before 1850, he went to live with his son, Franklin Tullar, in Vinland Twp., Winnebago Co., WI.
