Catherine Overmire

Catherine was born abt. 1798 and died before 1826, She may have died early in childhood as no further record of her is found.

"This writer has on file a photostatic copy of the original document which was obtained by application to the Clerk of the Probate Court, Lancaster, Fairfield County, Ohio upon payment of the nominal fee required. This document covers a value of over $1800.00, principally bonds, in the Administrators debit column -- a considerable sum of money in those days -- with less than $700.00 on the credit side. However the particularly significant item is that on the credit side which reads 'Funeral expenses of Catherine Overmier, $18.25.' this leads to the question; was this the 11th heir of George Sr. (2)? We [are] inclined to think this is the case. It must be remembered in this regard that this final settlement occurred 14 years after George's death. In the meantime, Catherine, as a direct living heir could have died and the administrators covered the cost of her burial.
