This is to certify that our records show: Charles S. Emery died November 15, 1925 at __ Greene county, Indiana; Age 63; male; white; widowed (wife - Mary Emery). Primary cause of death given was Cerebral Apoplexy; buried Simpson Chapel Cemetery 17 November 1925; born January 5, 1863 Indiana; Father: Nathaniel born Ohio; Mother Susan McCurter."

EMERY. Charles S. EMERY, son of Nathaniel and Susan EMERY, deceased, was born January 5, 1863, and departed this life, Sunday, November 15, 1925, being sixty-two years, ten months and ten days of age. The immediate cause of death was a stroke of paralysis.
Some years ago he united with the Methodist Church at Simpson Chapel, at which church he remained a member until his death.
On October 12, 1887, he was united in marriage to Minerva HARDESTY, of Koleen, who departed this life on March 25, 1921. With the exception of one years spent at Plainville, the whole of their married life was spent in Taylor Township.
It needs no words written here to testify to the high integrity and good fellow ship of the deceased.
He leaves to mourn his departure twelve children, namely: Jonas EMERY and Mrs. Francis BAKER, of Linton; Clarence EMERY, of Lyons; Mrs. Minnie EDINGTON and Mrs. Algie BROSMAN, of Bloomington; Mrs. Zelma HAINS, of Bickleton, Washington; Harve and Emil EMERY, of Taylor Township; William A., Albert, Pearl and Bruce, at home. Two brothers, Harve EMERY, of Taylor Township, and Jesse, of Parsons, Kansas, and one sister, Mrs. Lillie RAYBURN, of Portland, Oregon, survive, as also does sixteen grandchildren, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral was conducted at the Simpson Chapel M. E. Church in Taylor Township, on Tuesday, November 17, at 10 a.m. by the pastor, Rev. H. D. HUDSON of Newberry.
The neighbors and friends were very kind and generous in their assistance and sympathy during the last illness and after the death of our beloved father, Charles S. EMERY, and we wish to sincerely thank them all. THE CHILDREN."
