Christopher Burt was born in Quebec territory during the French and Indian war. His mother and father were taken captive during the 1704 sack of Deerfield, Massachusetts. Most of the town was killed except a few. And among the captives there were at least 7 pregnant women, including his mother. Within a year of his birth, however, an agreement was signed and the captives were redeemed back to Springfield, Massachusetts. This is where Christopher would spend the majority of his life.
