About Seaborn Burt
Seaborn was born at sea, on the return of his parents from captivity in Canada, whither they were carried by the French and Indians, after the destruction of Deerfield, Mass. on Feb 29, 1704.
In June 1706, the Burt family was part of a prisoner exchange and they arrived in Boston with John Sheldon on Aug. 2, 1706. Judge Sewall, sending a letter to Mr. Williams who was still a captive, said: "It was a great Blessing to see Mr. Willard baptize Ebenezer Hinsdale and Seaborn Burt, two little Sons born on the passage."
He sold his farm in Ridgefield to his brother Daniel and about 1756 left for parts unknown.

About Benjamin , father of Seaborn
Benjamin married Sarah Belden on Oct. 19, 1702, in Deerfield, Ct. Their childrens: Christopher, Seaborn, Benjamin, Abigail, John, Sarah, Daniel, Thankful who died young, a second Thankful , and Mary. After their capture during the Deerfield Massacre of the French & Indian War, they were held as prisoners in Canada and subsequently returned to Deerfield from where they departed.
