About Daniel Andrews

__________________________________________________________________________________ From Genealogical history of John and Mary Andrews, who settled in Farmington, Conn.

Daniel, third son of John and Mary the settlers. He lived in Farmington, married, (not known who or when). In 1672, was recognized as one of the 84 proprietors, and received a division of the lands on his £44 taxable estate. He united with the church at Farmington, the 24th of May 1692; he died 16th of April 1731, in his 82nd year. His name occasionally appears on the town record as engaged in public business; was one of the "townsmen" 1696 and later; was often employed in the settlement of estates, etc. In 1702, the General Assembly, having been informed that great differences have arisen in Farmington about the choice of town officers, confirm the appointment of Mr. John Hooker, Samuel Gridley, John Wadsworth, Samuel Cowles, and Daniel Andross. He was a large landholder, as appears from the land records at Farmington, where under date of 12th Jan. 1674, are entered eleven parcels of land located in different parts of the town, one of which is thus described as being purchased of Obadiah Richards, the deed dated 29th Jan. 1682, containing two acres on which his dwelling-house stands, abutting east, west, and north on highway, and south on " meeting-house yard." Some of the above parcels were large, and located in the " Great Swamp Society," and butted on Wethersfield town line, and some joined lands of Richard Seymour, the captain of the Palisades, at Great Swamp.
