None of these men were descended from or genetically related to Speaker Robert Wynne and his wife Mary Sloman Poythress Wynne of Charles City/Prince George Counties. Y-DNA testing establishes that descendants of the Lunenburg Winns do not match descendants of Speaker Robert.

The Winns are of Welsh descent.

Daniel and Sarah raised their family of at least 10 children in Prince George and Lunenburg County, Virginia.

Daniel Winn (1715 - 1799) born in Hanover or Prince George County, Virginia Colony

Removed parents - Richard Winn and Phoebe Wilkes of Hanover/Middlesex, Virginia.

Current Status
Daniel Winn was most likely the NEPHEW of Richard Winn (b.1672) of Middlesex Co. VA who m1. Sarah and m2. Anne Cocke. So Daniel Winn’s father was likely to be the brother (name unknown) of Richard Winn (b.1672) of Middlesex. FTDNA terminal SNP testing between the two sets of descendants make this the most likely scenario. This means that Richard Winn (1701-1750; m. Phebe Pledger) would have been Daniel Winn’s first cousin, as their father’’s were brothers.
The Wynne-Winn Family that Daniel Winn may descend from the Puleston DNA Group which is a Welsh-origin group. This line descends from John Wynn of Trefechan ap Edward ap Howell ap Edward ap Madog Puleston (Trefechan, Dinhille Ucha, of Ruabon Parish is now called Penycae in Wrexham). [Per Winn Surname Project at FTDNA https://www.familytreedna.com/groups/winn/about/news] The Winn from Puleston group have a confirmed haplogroup of R-M269 > R-P312 > R-DF99 > R-BY3447 [Not the same lineage as "Robert Wynne, Mayor of Canterbury"]

Daniel and his wife, Sarah, were parents of a large family of nine sons and one daughter, many of whom remained in Lunenburg and the surrounding areas. Daniel Winn moved to Lunenburg county circa 1755-1756 from Prince George County. An Indenture was entered into on the 4th day of November 1752 between Samuel Winn of Lunenburg County and Daniel Winn of Prince George County for one certain tract or parcel of land containing 100 acres lying in Lunenburg and granted to Samuel Winn by Patent bearing date the 20th of August 1752 which bounded on the south side of Hounds Creek, and below the falls of said Creek.[1] The Indenture was witnessed by Hampton Wade, Thos, Winn, and David Stokes.[1]

Daniel sold supplies to the Continental Army (classified as "Patriotic Service" by the DAR) . Lieutenant Daniel Winn served in the Lunenburg Militia under Captain William Gordon, Major Thomas Tabb, Lt Colonel Lyddal Bacon and Colonel Thomas Winn. Daniel Winn took the "Oaths to his Majesty's Person and Government" and was commissioned as a Lieutenant on July 16, 1765. Daniel's military service was rewarded in 1770 by the granting of an 817-acre land patent in Lunenburg County.

All but the two youngest of Daniel Winn's ten children were born in Prince George County. Five of Daniel's sons served in the Revolutionary War. Galanus and James were pensioners after the war.

Early Lunenburg County records indicate that Daniel purchased two parcels of land in 1752 and 1754, prior to his move there about 1755. In 1752, he bought land in Lunenburg. He also signed as witness in real estate transactions in 1744 and 1750.

Married Sarah [Last name possibly TENCH] in 1738 Prince George VA

We don’t know for certain that Daniel’s wife, Sarah, had the maiden name, “Tench". That’s because there were two Winn wives named Sarah in Lunenburg County. Daniel Winn's wife was Sarah, and also, Thomas Winn (1720-1781) second wife was Sarah. We don’t know for certain which one was Sarah “Tench"!
