David Baldwin, son of Lt. Isaac Baldwin, Jr., and Hannah Caldwell, was b. June 20,1803; married with Amanda M. Hobbs, in 1831. She was daughter of Jacob Hobbs and Sarah Ferguson; they were of Hudson, New Hampshire. He was a manufacturer; alderman of first City Government of Nashua; Representative to State Legislature; Deacon of Pearl Street Church. They removed from Hillsborough to Boston, thence to Nashua, New Hampshire, where he died October 17, 1853; widow died March 22, 1858, aged 49 years, and 11 months.

NOTE: The manufacturing business of the Nashua Lock Company, is done in the machine building of the Nashua Manufacturing Company, which is owned by Josephus Baldwin. This establish­ment, of which L. W. Noyes and David Baldwin are the proprietors, is employed in the manufacture of mortise locks and latches for dwellinghouse doors, and rosewood and brass knobs for the handles of the same. They usually have in their employ­ment about 40 men, and manufactured during the last year $35,000 to $40,000 worth of goods.
