Dorothy Ingersoll, daughter and 2nd child of John and Dorothy (Lord) Ingersoll, and b. Hartford, 1654, d. Westfield, Mass. Her father, John Ingersoll, of England, in Hartford in 1651, Northampton. Mass., 1666, Westfield 1668-9. He married three times. Dorothy Lord was daughter of Thomas Lord, Gentleman', and Dorothy his wife, of England, and one of the first and most prominent settlers of Hartford.
Dorothy Ingersoll married first Jacob Phelps 2 May, 1672, and had 7 children. She married second Mr. Root about 1689 after the death of Jacob Phelps 06 Oct 1689.
