About Ebenezer Allen, of Dartmouth
Ebenezer Allen, the son of Ralph and Susannah Allen, was born on 10 February 1649/50 in Massachusetts. He was later married in Massachusetts to a woman named Abigail in about 1681.
Ebenezer and Abigail resided at Dartmouth in Bristol County, Massachusetts, where Ebenezer was a blacksmith. Ebenezer subsequently died at Dartmouth during either the month of April or May 1725. His will, which had been written on 18 April 1725, was admitted for probate before the Bristol County Court on 18 May 1725. Ebenezer’s widow, Abigail, married secondly to a man named John Whitely at Dartmouth on 4 July 1728.

Obviously Ebenezer and Zachariah were not born eight days apart. One of the birthdates is in error, or
one falls a year after the other but is indistinguishable due to the "double date" problem.
