Biography

Eleazer Crocker was born at Barnstable, Massachusetts 21 Jul 1650. He was the son of William Crocker and Alice Hoyt.[1] On 7 Apr 1682, when Ruth Chipman was 18, she married at Barnstable 31-year old Eleazer Crocker.[2]

Ruth Chipman was born 31 Dec 1663 at Barnstable, Plymouth Colony. She was the daughter of John Chipman and Hope Howland.[3] Under the Barnstable, Massachusetts Vital Records entry for the births of John Chipman's children, it says: "Ruth born ye Last of December 1663"[4] Ruth was a descendant of Mayflower passengers John Howland and Elizabeth Tilley.

Eleazer married, as his second wife, Mercy Phinney, the daughter of John and Mary (Rogers) Finney/Phinney, at Barnstable on 26 Jan 1715.[7] She was born in Barnstable on 10 Jul 1679.[8]
