Elizabeth, m. Elisha Avery, Sept. 30, 1714, by Capt. Nath(anie)ll Chesebrough, J.P.

Baptized May 9, 1697, First Church of New London. Elisha married Nov. 3, 1714, at Stonington, Conn, Elizabeth Babcock, daughter of Joseph and Dorothy (Key) Babcock. She was born Jan. 29, 1698, at Stonington. He was a member of the First Church of Stonington, May 30, 1716 (Church Records).

Elisha died July 14, 1726, of a blow on the head accidentally given (Hempstead's Diary, p. 172). " I went with Mr Rossiter to the funeral of Elisha Avery who Died yestday of a wound he had in his head Right over his Right Ear which crackt his scull after the manner in the margent given him by William Saterly on ye 6th of this Instant by heaving a Coit above ye paces he Stooping down at the hub to direct him where to place his Coit not seeing it coming Received itt on his head on the top of the Side of his head of which wound the Jury of Inquest of which I was Coroner Judged he died after."

The children of Elisha and Elizabeth (Babcock) Avery were born at Stonington and baptized in the First Church there.
